Chocolate Snickerdoodle Drop Cookies

Chocolate Snickerdoodle Drop Cookies


1 stick butter, soft

1 cup + 2 Tbsps. sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

1 egg

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 cup flour

1 tsp cinnamon


Preheat oven to 375° F


Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar; beat in soda, cream of tartar; beat in egg.    Mix flour and cocoa powder together and beat into cream mixture.


Drop by rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.   Stir together 2 Tbsps. sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle cookies.   Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are firm.   Cool on rack.   Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies
