Shrimp Creole in a Crockpot

 

1 1/2 cups diced celery

1 1/4 cups chopped onion

3/4 cup chopped bell pepper

8 oz. tomato sauce

28 oz. whole tomatoes

1 clove garlic or ¼ tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

6 drops Tabasco sauce, optional

1 lb shrimp, deveined and shelled

 

Combine celery, onion, bell pepper, tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, Tabasco sauce and cook 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low.

 

Add shrimp last hour of cooking. Serve over hot rice.

 

Variations: Chicken, rabbit or crawfish may be substituted for the shrimp.
