German Butter Cookies

German Butter Cookies

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 Tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla

2 3/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt


Cream together butter, sugar until fluffy; beat in egg, milk and vanilla.   Combine flour, baking powder, salt and gradually add to creamed mixture.   Chill for 2 hours or overnight.


Preheat oven to 350° F.     Roll out dough to 1/8” thick on lightly floured surface.  Cut with floured cookie cutters into desired shapes.   Bake 8 to 10, or until golden.   Transfer to cooling rack.   Enjoy!
