Granny’s Croutons and Bread Crumbs…

Let your sliced bread stay out all night to dry…I am using Ciabatta bread this time but you can use any of your favorite breads…

Mix 1/4 cup olive oil (any vegetable oil) with your favorite herbs and spices.

parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, marjoram, dill weed, mint leaf, onion powder, garlic powder, dry mustard, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, cinnamon, minced dried onion, savory. this is the mixture for this batch of croutons.

You can use a few or many herbs and spices, make your own family favorites.

Brush olive oil and spice mixture on both sides of your bread. Let sit for about 15 minutes; cut into cubes and bake in preheated oven at 300 degrees F. for 10 to 15 minutes or until crisp.

Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Store in an air tight container until ready to use….great on salads, casseroles or soup. Enjoy!

When cooled completely you may grind up to make bread crumbs, they are wonderful in many recipes.
