Chocolate Chip Cookie Sticks

Chocolate Chip Cookie Sticks


½ cup butter, room temperature

½ cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup sugar

½ tsp. baking soda

2 eggs

2 tsps. Vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

8 oz. chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts, your favorite (optional)


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.   Line a 9×13 baking sheet with foil; set aside.


In a large bowl cream together butter and shortening.   Mix in well both sugars and baking soda.   Beat in eggs and vanilla well.   Mix in flour well.   Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.    Press dough evenly into prepared baking sheet.


Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and center is set.   Cool in pan for about an hour.


Reduce oven heat to 325 degrees F.   Remove cookies from baking sheet to your cut board by lifting foil lining.   Slice crosswise 9 by 2 inch slices.   Place slices, cut side down, about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.


Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are crispy.   Transfer cookie sticks carefully to wire rack to cool completely.   Makes 18 cookie sticks.
