BBQ Meatballs

 

2 lbs lean ground beef

1 cup bread crumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

2 envelopes onion soup mix

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 eggs

BBQ sauce, see recipe below

 

Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion soup mix,

Worcestershire sauce and eggs; mix together well.  Shape into meatballs and brown in a skillet with 1 Tbsp. oil.   Drain on paper towels.   Makes about 60 meatballs.

 

BBQ sauce:

1 cup chopped onion

12 oz. tomato paste

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

3 Tbsps. red wine or apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sweet pickle relish

1/2 cup beef broth

2 tsps. salt

2 tsps. dry mustard

 

Mix together well and put in Crock pot.   Add Meatballs and cook, covered, on low for 5 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.   Serve hot.
