Beer Bread

¼ cup butter, melted
3 cups Biscuit and Baking Mix, see recipe below
1/3 cup sugar
12 oz. bottle or can beer

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Heavily grease 9 x 5 loaf pan with butter.

In large bowl, stir together Biscuit mix, sugar and beer with wooden spoon until well moistened. Spoon into prepared pan, press to form pan. Pour melted butter over batter.

Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes. Loosen sides and remove from pan.

Biscuit and Baking Mix

8 ¾ cup flour
1/3 cup baking powder
¼ cup sugar
1 Tbsp salt
2 cup shortening or butter

In a very large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients with wire whisk. Cut in butter until crumbly. Ready to use. Store in large airtight container.
