Granny’s Garlic Bread and Garlic Herb Bread…


Granny’s Garlic Bread

1 large loaf bread, sliced lengthwise
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, room temperature
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

In small mixing bowl, combine butter, garlic and parsley flakes. Spread in thick layer over bread. Put two halves back together and wrap with foil.

Bake 25 minutes at 375° F. Right before serving, you can unwrap the foil and broil the bread briefly to crisp the top.

Save it for another meal: After you butter the bread you can wrap it in foil and store it in the freezer for later use. If frozen, add 10 to 15 minutes to your baking time.

Granny’s Garlic Herb Bread:

1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cloves of garlic, pressed
1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning, see below
I loaf bread

Combine the butter and seasonings; spread in thick layer over bread. Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 350º F. until toasted or broil until toasted. Makes about 12 servings.

Italian Seasoning

1/3 cup dried, oregano, crushed
1/3 cup dried basil
2 Tablespoons rosemary
1/4 cup thyme
1/4 cup sage
1/4 cup marjoram

Makes 1 1/4 cups
