Hot Milk Sponge Cake

Hot Milk Sponge Cake

Beat together 3 eggs very well, about 5 to 10 minutes.

Add:
1 level cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup flour, all purpose
Beat together well.

Add 1 tsp baking powder and beat again.
Add 1 tsp vanilla or other flavoring, beat again.

Heat together 1 Tbsp. butter and ½ cup milk. Let boil up and pour over cake batter. Beat for 2 minutes.

Pour into greased 9 inch baking dish and bake in quick oven, 350 degrees F, for 25 to 30 minutes.

Variations:
Top with fresh fruit and whipped cream topping
or spread fruit syrup, icing or whipped cream topping in-between two layers and dust with powdered sugar
or top with your favorite chocolate syrup
or eat hot, just out of the oven…by itself
