Granny’s Homemade Picante Sauce

February 25, 2017

Granny’s Homemade Picante Sauce

28 oz. crushed tomatoes

6 oz tomato paste

1 med. onion chopped

1/8 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp white vinegar

1 tsp salt

½ to ¾ cup water

pinch of red cayenne pepper

1 large jalapeno peppers or 5 slices

Mix all in large bowl real well.   Ready to eat.   Refrigerate leftovers.   Will keep for days.   The longer sauce sits, the hotter it gets.

Variation: use apple cider vinegar in place of white vinegar.
