Berry Lemonade

2 quarts water

2 cup berries, your favorite

2 cups sugar, granulated

2 cups lemon juice, fresh squeezed

Lemon slices

In a saucepan mix berries and 1 cup sugar; add 1 pint (2 cups) water.   Bring to a boil over medium low heat, stirring constantly.   Turn down heat to simmer and cook about 10 more minutes, stir often to prevent sticking.   Remove from heat.   Let cool.   Stir in lemon juice.

Puree in food processor or blender until smooth, about one minute.     Press thru sieve or strainer to remove seeds.      Mix together with remaining 1 cup sugar and 1 ½ quarts (6 cups) water; blend well.    Pour over ice, garnish with lemon slices and enjoy!

Use Blueberries, Huckleberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries (husk and chop) or a little bit of several kinds of berries….the sky is the limit here….make your own family favorite today!

Variation:

add more lemon juice or sugar to taste depending on how tart or sweet you want it to be
