Granny’s Glazed Carrots

Granny’s Glazed Carrots

1 pound baby carrots, or sliced carrots
1 cup water
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
2 Tbsp butter
3 finger pinch of cinnamon
2 finger pinch of salt
A couple of shakes of pepper
A small splash of lemon juice

In a medium cast iron skillet melt together butter, water, brown sugar, and cinnamon, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Stir in carrots; bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until carrots are tender, stir frequently. Serves 4 to 6.
