Mix together BBQ sauce; heat on stove top over medium heat until well blended and desired thickness.

Brisket:
Make sure to remove all silver skin if butcher has not already done so. Place prepared brisket in crock pot, roaster oven on roast pan for roasting in the oven. Pour homemade sauce over brisket; cook on low until done. The length of time cooking will depend on how large your brisket is.

Size of your brisket…. good size is brisket from 6 to 10 pounds, but this depends on the size of your crock pot or roaster oven or roaster pan you are using. Cook time: slow cooking at 225 degrees F. for 1 1/2 to 2 hours per pound…Using a BBQ Sauce or spice rub is very important!

When done, remove from crock pot to large platter. Slice the brisket or using two forks shred brisket. Delicious served on rolls, buns, like tacos with all the trimmings in hard or soft taco shells or as a side for many many meals. Make your own family favorite today!!!

Variations:
Use onion soup mix in place of 1 sweet onion
Use 1 cup beef broth in place of 1 cup water and 1 tsp salt
Use Spice Rub, see recipe below, in place of BBQ sauce

Dry Rub:
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp brown sugar, optional
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp cumin

Mix together. After brisket sits out from the refrigerator for 30 minutes or so, rub the dry rub firmly over the brisket, do not sprinkle it on.
