Granny’s Chocolate Football Cookies

Granny opens her Cupboards and starts building her Cookies….

½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs

Blend the above ingredients.

2 ½ cup flour of choice
1 cup oats
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
¾ cup baking cocoa
1 cup dried cherries, grapes or cranberries
1 cup chocolate chips

Add the above to the butter mixture, blending well. Scoop by teaspoon, roll into a ball and slightly flatten and place on cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees F. for 8 minutes.

Let cool completely.

4 cups crumbled chocolate cookies
1 ½ cups marshmallow crème
2 Tbsp cherry, raspberry or vanilla extract
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tbsp butter
1 oz. white chocolate chips, melted

Mix together crumbled cookies, marshmallow crème and extract of choice in a large bowl and blend well. Shape into footballs about an inch in size. Set aside.

On a cookie sheet place a wire rack over wax paper. Over medium low heat melt together semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter. Dip one football cookie at a time into chocolate to cover completely. Put each dipped football cookie on wire rack. Chill for about 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.

Melt white chocolate and put in small re-sealable plastic bag, cut the top of the bag off and drizzle lines on football cookies. Chill until chocolate is set. Serve. Makes about 3 dozen chocolate football cookies…enjoy!
