Granny’s Pecan Pie Bars


2 cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup butter

1 ½ cups pecans, chopped

14 oz. sweetened condensed milk, see recipe below

3 eggs, beaten

2 Tbsps. lemon juice


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.


Mix together flour, brown sugar and butter until crumbly.   Press into a 9×13 baking pan.   Bake 12 minutes.


Mix together pecans, sweetened condensed milk, eggs and lemon juice.   Pour over crust and bake 25 minutes or until filling is set.   Let cool.   Cut into bars and serve.


Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 cup sugar
½ cup water
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup dry milk

In saucepan combine, sugar, water and butter, bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Put in Blender and add dry milk. Blend until smooth. Makes 14 oz. equal to 1 can.
