Granny’s Creamy Chocolate Pie

1 baked pie crust
3 oz. chocolate chips, semi-sweet
¼ tsp. salt
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup hot water
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup whipped topping

In heavy saucepan, over medium heat, melt chocolate with milk and salt until thick and bubbly, 5 to 8 minutes. Add water and egg yolks, cook stirring constantly until mixture is thick and bubbly again. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.


Chill 30 minutes, then stir. In bowl fold together whipped topping and chilled chocolate mixture. Pour into pie crust. Chill 3 hours or until set. Garnish with additional whip cream, chill and serve…
