Butterscotch Oatmeal Crinkles

Butterscotch Oatmeal Crinkles


2 cups brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

1/2 cup shortening

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups old fashioned or quick-cooking oats

1 1/2 tsps. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup granulated or powdered sugar


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.    Grease cookie sheet.


Beat brown sugar, butter, shortening, vanilla and eggs in large bowl until well blended. Stir in well flour, oats, baking powder and salt.


Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place about 2

inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.  Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack just out of the oven.
